The University of Manchester has taken delivery of a new Quickstep composite manufacturing plant, which is a low cost
route to manufacturing carbon fibre composites and avoids the need to
use an autoclave. A programme is underway to evaluate the new process
and obtain approval for use on commercial aeroplanes. The project
is a joint venture with a major aerospace prime, NATEC, Quickstep
and The University of Manchester.
